Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT “Rebo” 2021 – Fagarini

We are in the Valsugana, a land of forts, which during the Austro-Hungarian Empire was called the vineyard of Austria, from which the wines that landed on the banquets of Vienna, the capital then, came.

This Rebo vineyard comes from a plot that was given to Tania, the winemaker, by her parents on the occasion of her graduation in oenology. The variety originates from the invention of a great expert, Rebo Rigotti, a researcher at the experimental station of the Istituto Agrario di San Michele all'Adige (Trento), who around 1920 created this hybrid between Merlot and Teroldego, the latter an indigenous Trentino vine.

This union created a unique blend capable of generating simple but elegant wines that possess all the aromaticity of Teroldego and the structure of Merlot.

Tasting notes

Brilliant ruby ​​red. The nose has hints of small red fruits: cherry, plum, currant, blackberry as well as a light note of undergrowth. It is pleasant on the palate and also recalls the olfactory bouquet.

Pairings

Ideal to accompany an all Trentino speciality: Spin della Valsugana corn polenta with stew or grilled Lucanica meat.

Production method

Vinification in steel at a controlled temperature. Subsequent maturation for 12 months in oak barriques and another 6 in the bottle.
