Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT “Kreutz Moratèl” BIO 2020 – Cesconi

Moratèl is a blend of four red grapes grown in two very distinct areas, both in terms of soil and climate. Lagrein is located in Pressano, just north of the city of Trento, while Teroldego, Merlot and Cabernet grow in the vineyards in Valle dei Laghi, located between the Province capital and Lake Garda.

Tasting notes

Ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose is fruity with hints of small berries. On the palate it is pleasant and soft, complex and pleasantly tannic.

Pairings

Ideal to accompany a mixed grill of meat with Spin-corn polenta from Valsugana.

Production method

After the manual harvesting of the grapes and subsequent destemming, the grapes are left to ferment in stainless steel tanks. Maceration lasts approximately 10 days for Lagrein and Teroldego and approximately 20 days for Merlot and Cabernet. Once fermentation is complete, the wine ages in barriques for approximately 12 months and only then is the cuvée made between the different wines. In order to safeguard the freshness and fruity characteristics of the wine, the barrels used are exclusively those already used for other ageing processes. After bottling, Moratèl is left to refine for at least 6 months in the bottle.
