Groppello di Revò takes its name from its hometown where, in 1893, the first cooperative winery in the Austro-Hungarian Trentino was founded and, thanks to it, its production amounted to almost 50 thousand hectoliters of wine.

Today, the production of Groppello, drastically reduced due to phylloxera, stands at around 200 hectoliters/year: the grapes come from a few plots for a total of 8 hectares managed mainly by amateurs.

Thanks to the tenacity of some winemakers such as Lorenzo Zadra, founder of the El Zeremia winery, and the foresight of his father Augusto, Groppello has been included within the national program for the protection of biodiversity: a very important recognition within a territory, Val di Non, where the apple reigns supreme.

Did you know that? Groppello di Revò is one of the red wines with the highest content of rotundone, the compound responsible for the main aroma of black pepper!
