For about ten years Alois Lageder has been cultivating Lagrein on the detrital alluvial fan of Magrè, an area little known for this vine. The calcareous dolomite that prevails in these soils is an important prerequisite for the round and fruity character of this wine. The Latin name “Conus” refers precisely to the debris fan and its slopes on which these vineyards stand.
