Salurnis is a young winery, founded in 2018, based on the passion of Nicolò and Andrea, two winemakers who have dedicated themselves to the care of the vineyards since they were very young. Their work is a tribute to the land of Salorno, which is not only the heart of their production, but also a symbol of the nobility and deep connection between the territory of Alto Adige and the native grapes they cultivate. Although young, the winery has quickly distinguished itself for its ability to combine tradition and innovation, expressing the full potential of the South Tyrolean terroir.

Salurnis places great emphasis on sustainability and the use of modern techniques, without ever losing sight of the centuries-old traditions of South Tyrolean viticulture. The vineyards are located in the most suitable areas of southern South Tyrol, where the unique climatic conditions - the combined influence of the Mediterranean sun and the fresh Alpine air - allow the grapes to ripen slowly, developing complexity and aromatic richness in the wines. The Lagrein "Fateni" 2022 is a perfect synthesis of this balance between modernity and tradition.

Tasting notes

The Lagrein "Fateni" 2022 has a deep ruby red color. The nose features aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and blackberries, accompanied by spicy notes of vanilla and hints of cocoa. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with soft tannins, a pleasant acidity that gives freshness, long finish.

Pairings

Lagrein "Fateni" pairs perfectly with structured and tasty dishes. It is ideal with roast beef or lamb in the oven, and goes equally well with game, such as wild boar or roe deer. Its robust structure also makes it perfect to accompany mature cheeses, such as Grana Trentino Dop or Parmigiano Reggiano. It is also excellent with first courses based on meat or mushroom ragù, enhancing the autumn and winter flavours.

Production method

The Lagrein grapes are harvested manually and carefully selected to ensure the highest quality. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with a 20-day maceration on the skins, preserving the fruity and spicy aromas. After fermentation, the wine ages for 10 months in oak barrels, where it acquires structure and complexity. Subsequently, the refinement in the bottle allows the wine to reach its full aromatic and gustatory expression.
